CfP: Special Issue of the DOCOMOMO Journal – Modern Movement in Ukraine: Extended Deadline May 31st
In March 2022 DOCOMOMO International has put forward a Solidarity Statement on Ukraine to express our solidarity and to intensify our joint activities of documentation and conservation related to Modernist Architecture and Urbanism in Ukraine. DOCOMOMO Ukraine since its inception together with other academics and activists has been documenting and analyzing the history of Ukrainian Avant-garde and Modernist Architecture. Today, a number of these objects have been already destroyed or seriously damaged, and in general this heritage is at risk of being destroyed due to the brutal aggression.
A Special Issue of the Open Access DOCOMOMO Journal will be dedicated to buildings and sites of the Modern Movement in Ukraine in order to better present its history and development, as well as its current state to the world community. You can publish in one of our categories. Lectures, Essays, Documentation Issues, Interviews, Heritage in Danger, Tributes, Conservation Issues, Technical Issues, News, Book Reviews.
As an exception, we will welcome the publication in this special issue of important papers or passages that have previously been published in the scientific press. Please add a written permission of the original publisher agreeing on publishing the paper or part of a paper in DOCOMOMO Journal. All papers, including images in DOCOMOMO Journal are published under CC BY 4.0 license.
