Organized by Docomomo International, Docomomo Italy, and Docomomo Belgium, the seminar explores the study, documentation, and preservation of modern church architecture across Europe. It presents strategies for documenting churches through archival methods, particularly photographic archives, and for conserving them by safeguarding cultural identity, employing adaptive reuse, and applying knowledge of construction techniques. Wido Quist, Antonello Alici, Zsuzsanna Böröcz, Ivan Nevzgodin, and Lorenzo Grieco will discuss how modernism has been interpreted in churches across different geographical contexts, highlighting architectural forms, aesthetics, and building practices.
