About Archiv für Architekturwissenschaft
"The UAA Foundation is an independent institution promoting architectural science. Seat of the UAA is the former residential and office building of the internationally renowned architect Oswald Mathias Ungers (1926-2007) in Cologne, which was built in 1959 and expanded in 1989/90 to a library extension. The foundations of the foundation are the outstanding architectural library of O.M. and Liselotte Ungers (1926-2010) and the complete artistic and intellectual estate of O.M. Ungers.

The aim of the UAA Foundation is to make the historically significant listed building complex Belvederestraße 60, library and estate accessible to the general public and the professional world through a diverse range of programs and to design it as a platform for an interdisciplinary architectural discourse. Library and estate are provided to scholars and students for research and teaching. Exhibitions, guided tours, lectures, summer schools or workshops are intended to convey architectural history and architectural theory, thereby laying the foundations for the development of a Baukultur consciousness."
