Event: First Anniversary of Casa da Arquitectura

Casa da Arquitectura - Centro Português da Arquitectura [House of Architecture - Portuguese Centre of Architecture] is celebrating its first year anniversary at the rehabilitated Quarteirão da Real Vinícola, in Matosinhos, with a series of events during the 16th, 17th and 18th of November.

The Educational Department has also prepared an extensive program for children and families that ran throughout the weekend.

Some of the initiatives prepared were:

16th November:

The presentation of Oscar Niemeyer scenography for Orfeu da Conceição, by Fernando Serapião, and the class Show on Modern Architecture and Brazilian Popular Music, which brung together José Miguel Wisnik and Guilherme Wisnik.

17th November: 

The architect Eduardo Souto de Moura introduced the architect Pedro Ramalho, whose collection was donated to Casa da Arquitectura
After, a debate on "Crossed interpretations between Brazil and Portugal", which confronts Maria Elisa Costa, the daughter of the Brazilian architect Lúcio Costa, and Ana Vaz Milheiro, a Professor and critic of architecture, for a conversation of transatlantic references and free entry.
 18th November:

On the last day, the talk "Arquitectura no Palco" ("Architecture on the Stage") took place, bringing together 
representatives of some of the world´s most prestigious cultural institutions around the table to discuss the role they
can play in the mission of taking architecture further and to a new public. The meeting includes Barry Bergdoll (MoMA),
Delfim Sardo (Culturgest), Pipo Ciorra (MAXXI), Olivia Horsfall Turner (Victoria and Albert Museum) and Nuno
Sampaio (CA). The moderation was in charge of the architect João Belo Rodeia.
