Colegio de Arquitectos de Sevilla: XVI Semana de la Arquitectura [16th Architecture Week]
2nd - 8th October 2017, Seville, Spain
DATE: 2/10/2017
On the occasion of World Architecture Day, which UNESCO commemorates every first Monday of October, the Official College of Architects of Seville (COAS) organizes the Week of Architecture, this year it is 16th edition, taking place from Monday 2nd until Sunday, October 8th.

The Week of Architecture celebrates a series of cultural activities aiming to promote the relationship and communication of the society of Seville with the architects of Seville.

In common, we all have Architecture, always alive, always source of enjoyment and learning, from the dolmens and caves of Valencina de la Concepción, megalithic works of unknown architects, to the recent office building for the Ministry of Housing and Development Junta de Andalucía by the architects Cruz y Ortiz. And in common we have the Territory, the one of our province, its varied and beautiful landscape, its system of poblamiento.
The human action of doing Architecture, looks a lot the environment of his performance before beginning to propose, on him, solutions of improvement, in fact sometimes we think that good architecture asks for that which is latent in its own PLACE.

In order to be able to talk about all this, to be together and to share luminous or attractively shaded moments, the architects of Seville want to explain how we see the city, with our differences, visiting areas and buildings, traveling around the region, dealing with historical and current architectural themes, in a walk that awakens or renews our common admiration for Architecture, as art and as a true Space of ideas.

We want to talk about Architecture to all, children and not so children, and that all talk and participate, that there is a rapprochement and a mutual transfer of knowledge. With that spirit we want to start what we know will positively affect everyone.

We all have the right to Architecture and from this professional college we are ready to collaborate in the consolidation of this right.
