Colloquium: Restaurer le Béton: La Masse et l´épiderme [Restoring Concrete: The Mass and the Epidermis]

"On the occasion of the bicentennial of the discovery of hydraulic processes of lime and modern croncretes by Louis Vicat, an engineer of Grenoble origin, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d´Architecture of Grenoble and the University of Grenoble, mobilized to organize A program of events entitled "200 Years of Concrete Grenoble 2017". These demonstrations received the support of the City of Grenoble, the Metropolis, the Department and various organizations and companies.

Within the framework of this program, ICOMOS France and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d´Architecture in Grenoble organize two scientific days. The day of the 23 piloted and hosted by ENSAG will deal with the history, definition and uses of concrete. The symposium of 24 November, organized by ICOMOS France, will present case studies analyzing advances in analytical methods and restoration of concrete.

These meetings will allow us to take stock of the scientific advances in the study of concrete, the evolution of knowledge on pathologies, treatments and restorations 20 years after the ICOMOS France symposium, which had given rise to a reference publication."
