Doctor Honoris Causa: Kenneth Frampton

Docomomo International congratulates Kenneth Frampton for becoming a Doctor Honoris Causa by the Polytechnic University of Madrid, during the Solemn Academic Ceremony of Conferral, in the past 27th January 2017.
"Kenneth Frampton is the most prestigious teacher of the Graduate School of Architecture and Planning of Columbia in New York. Born in England, Professor Frampton studied architecture in the London Architectural Association and has dedicated his life to the theory and the teaching of Architecture in many of the most well-known Architecture Schools of England, Switzerland and EEUU. Today he is a Ware Professor at Columbia University in New York.
Authou of most widely known books: Modern Architecture: A Critical History, of 1980; Studies in Tectonic, of 1995; and Labour, Work and Architecture, of 2002."
