“The IASS International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures, founded by Eduardo Torroja in 1959, organizes annual symposia in different parts of the World aiming to achieve further progress through an interchange of ideas among all those interested in lightweight structural systems such as lattice, tension, membrane, and shell structures. This year IASS 2017 Annual Symposium will be held in Hamburg, Germany during 25-28 September 2017. The theme of the symposium will be "Interfaces: Architecture. Engineering. Science".
IASS WG17 on Historic Spatial Structures, dedicated to the identification, documentation, and preservation of historic spatial structures of recent heritage, will organize two Sessions during IASS2017 Hamburg Symposium on:
1. Identification and Documentation of Historic Spatial Structures
2. Assessment and Preservation of Historic Spatial Structures
The IASS WG17 Historic Spatial Structures seeks submissions from academia, government, industry and consultants presenting novel research results and case studies related to practical and theoretical aspects of preservation.
IASS WG17 would like to [Docomomo´s] members to attend IASS2017 Symposium in Hamburg and submit paper(s) to be presented in one or two of the above mentioned IASS WG17 Sessions. Abstract submission is extended to January 15, 2017.”
